I’d like to take a moment to welcome all of our students to the 2022-23 dance season and share my teaching philosophy! I know many of our young dancers may be feeling a bit nervous about starting classes, and I’d like to ensure you that our studio will be a safe and friendly place for them to learn.
My teaching philosophy is to see my students as individuals and implement their training in ways that directly incorporate their learning style, interests, and rate of progression. It is my goal to create an atmosphere where my students feel open to ask questions, since this is a crucial way to thrive as a dancer. I want to initiate a communal bond of trust and respect in the studio, not only amongst the students, but also between each student and myself. This will allow me to observe and foster their advancement on an individual basis, which is especially critical in an art form that requires immediate feedback in a group setting. Getting to know your children and building on their strengths is extremely important to me, as well as challenging them to push past their comfort zones.
At Starstruck, we have been fortunate to win many regional and national awards and have been recognized as a studio that focuses on technical excellence. But our goal is not to win every competition. Instead, we focus on every dancer’s personal growth, and we applaud their good sportsmanship, respect, and support of their peers. We take pride in sharing our knowledge, experience, and love of dance, helping to mold individuals who develop an equally powerful passion for their art.
We are ATHLETES. We are ARTISTS. We are lifelong FRIENDS. We are FAMILY.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I look forward to an exciting and successful dance season!
